Râmnicu Vâlcea, situated in Vâlcea county, is an important economic and cultural point of the country, located in the central-southern part of Romania, northeastern part of Oltenia and central-eastern part of the county. Râmnicu Vâlcea has a strategic position, on one of the major international routes connecting Central Europe and the Balkan Peninsula, namely the national road DN 7 Bucharest - Pitesti - Râmnicu Vâlcea - Sibiu, but also on other important national roads - DN 67 Târgu Jiu - Horezu - Râmnicu Vâlcea, and DN 64 Craiova - Drăgăşani - Râmnicu Vâlcea. The railway network links Bucharest and Craiova to Sibiu, through line 201. Râmnicu Vâlcea is positioned at approximately equal distances (around 20 km) from three major spa resorts, frequented by tourists from the country and abroad: Călimăneşti - Căciulata - Cozia, Băile Olănești and Băile Govora. The urban roads network covers 212 km, out of which 155 km are modernized.

    Traffic Snake Game Network is an IEE project, having as main goal the implementation of a campaign developed to encourage walking and cycling to school, with primary school children, parents and teachers as the main target group.
