Legnica is one of the oldest cities in the region and the third largest one in the Lower Silesia Area. Legnica constitutes a large economic centre and important state and regional cultural and academic centre. The city was the capital of the Legnica Province from 1st June 1975 to 31st December 1998. At present it is a seat of Town Administration Authorities (powiat grodzki) and District Administration Authorities (powiat ziemski).
Legnica is a city of the great potential with bold plans for the future. The ever increasing growing investment, business and cultural offers make the city one of the most important centres on the map of Lower Silesia
