The former industrial centre lies on the corridor Prague – Chemnitz (R7) and Cheb – Ústí nad Labem, and serves as an important road and railway intersection. The main attractors of tourism to the city are its preserved historical centre and nearby national parks. The city participated in a pilot QUEST audit project with an Action plan, focused on establishing a functional cycling infrastructure, a parking scheme, supporting public transport use and clean mobility. One of the city’s prominent amenities is its abundant network of cycle paths.
