Pilsen, the fourth largest city in the Czech Republic, is a regional industrial and cultural centre (European capital of culture for the year 2015), renowned for its automotive and brewing industry. Along with its accessibility from Prague and vicinity of natural sites and cultural landmarks, this generates a significant influx of tourists and visitors. The city boasts a relatively dense network of multimodal public transport, which is fully integrated across the Pilsen region. One of the main factors, influencing the urban transport, is its complicated morphology and dispersed structure, leading inter alia to longer route distances.
