Maribor is the second largest city in Slovenia and the regional capital. Its SUMP was prepared in 2013. Cars still don’t have competition in the city due to infrastructural and strategic development in the last years being very car-oriented. Some improvements for pedestrians and cyclists have been implemented in the recent years but were mostly concentrated in the city center. Public transport and cycling are still the most neglected parts of mobility in the city, suffering from a lack of strategic planning and holistic approach to problems.
