Šentjur is well connected to national road infrastructure since there is a motorway running through it. On the other hand, it brings a lot of transit traffic to the municipality. The municipality has intensive daily migration activity, where cars are still the most common means of transportation for commuters travelling to work and to other parts of the region.

Development in the recent years has been mainly focused on road infrastructure, leaving other means of mobility neglected.
Cycling is not perceived as an attractive means of transportation since cycling infrastructure is almost non-existent and the landscape of municipality is hilly. Walking is not a common mode of mobility because pedestrian infrastructure is not attractive for walking. Public transportation is not frequent enough to be used daily by many people.
