Škofja Loka is facing problems with overloaded road infrastructure including the road in the town centre.

One bypass road has been built that partly relieved the town of traffic. Another bypass is planned to be built in near future to relieve the town of the transit traffic. Škofja Loka has very intensive daily migration activity, where cars are still the most common means of transportation.

People use cars even for short trips that can be done by bicycle. Most of the important parts of the municipality can be reached by walking and cycling, but the infrastructure is not suitable enough for people to decide to walk or cycle. There is public transportation, but it is not commonly used. The train station is located far away from the town centre but can be reached with a local bus.
