Kamnik has intense daily migration activity, since many people work in other municipalities. Cars are still the most common means of transportation. Cycling is not very common, but the flat terrain along existing roads is ideal for cycling even in the regional scale. There are some pedestrian zones in town centre but are not connected with pedestrian paths. Flat terrain in the town area makes good conditions for making the town more walkable.

Problems are in wider area of the municipality, where there is lack of pedestrian paths. Similar problem is with bus stations that are not well equipped. Bus network covers the area of the municipality well, but there is lack in mutual coordination with trains to form a well-functioning public transportation. Trains are a fast option of transportation to the capital city of Ljubljana but are not frequent enough and early enough to be used by a larger number of people.
