Radlje ob Dravi is facing issues involving population ageing. The municipality has intensive daily migration activity where cars are still the most common means of transportation. There is heavy traffic in the municipality, even in the town centre. A bypass has been built in 2012 but it did not relieve the town centre of traffic.

There is no local public transportation, but there are intercity busses. Bus stops are in poor condition. The terrain of the municipality is partly hilly, therefore cycling infrastructure is only partly built and there is no cycling network. Pedestrian infrastructure is built, there are many sidewalks but are not connected in a network.

To make walking and cycling more attractive the network expansion and adaptation of cycling and pedestrian infrastructure is necessary.
