Sevnica has intensive daily migration activity, where cars are still the most common means of transportation for commuters travelling to work and to other parts of the region.

Cycling and walking are not common as means of transportation since the infrastructure is unsuitable for it. There are only unconnected parts of cycling infrastructure and sidewalks are partly missing or very narrow, even in town centre.

The focus of the traffic development has been mainly on road infrastructure, leaving other means of mobility neglected. Public transportation on local level is not perceived as desirable means of transportation since it is very infrequent. There is a railway running through Sevnica, connecting Ljubljana and Zagreb where trains are quite frequent.
