The statutory city of Hradec Králové is the urban center of Eastern Bohemia. It is situated at the confluence of Labe and Orlice rivers. Nowadays it is the center of education which regularly scores very high at the comparison of quality of life among the Czech cities. In the Czech Republic the city is known as “the republic salon” for its modern urban development started at the beginning of 20th century. Traffic system of the city is based as radially – circular shape. The city suffers from lack of bypass and highway so transit traffic is going through the city.

Status of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan

Interest in SUMP only at officers level. Not priority for politicians. The city has good strategic documents,  monitors modal split since 2003. Also other data are monitored regularly,  e.g.  Ways to schools.
