The first presentation, held by Klara Macsinka (Szent Istvan University, Győr), was a general introduction to the sustainable transport planning. The presenter outlined the priorities in an urban area: pedestrian – cyclist – public transportation – cars. Nowadays, preparing an urban transport development plan, different professionals have to be involved as sociologist and transport psychologist.
Lajos Koszoru (architect) presented the case study of a public square in front of the East Railway Station of Budapest. The topic gave a whole picture about the development of the square from its beginning to the construction of the new connecting metro line M4. He highlighted the difference between the two principals: sustainable mobility urban plan and mobility plan of a sustainable urban environment.
Tamas Fleischer (urbanist, civil engineer) confirmed the importance of the cooperation between the different development areas and professionals.
Tamas Sztaniszlav (Head of KETOSZ) presented the different cultures and behaviours of the cyclists. There are people who feels safer cycling on the road, while others prefer to use physically separated bike roads.
The last presentation held by Petra Szakonyi (city of Győr) presented the current bike network of Győr, and the developments had to be implemented in the close future.
