Overall Project Description show_help

Twente Mobiel organized the Twente Cycling Campaign 2014 as a part of the Beter Benutten Scheme. This campaign was exclusively meant for employees of the Twente Mobiel covenant partners. These companies and organizations cooperate to increase the accessibility of the region. Most of the employees live within cycling distances but travel to work by car. By participating in the Cycling Action the employees promote their staff to cycle to work more often.

Car drivers who start cycling receive a reward that depends of the trip length from home to work and the number of trips cycled. Per day a reward is €3-5 possible with a maximum of app. €400. A participant needed a colleague that already was cycling to take part. This colleague received €1 for every that the the former car driver took the bike.

H: 868.000 car kilometers saved on an annual base and 139.000 kg CO2
90% says that they will keep cycling when the reward ends.

Lessons Learned show_help

The 'applyers' encouraged their colleagues to cycle, since they received a reward as well when they cycled often.
