NI Poland: Polish Environmental Partnership Foundation

The Polish Environmental Partnership Foundation (PEPF) supports practical action for sustainable development through partnerships, civil society development, proposing new solutions, as well as promoting tried and tested environmental projects and initiatives.

Since 1997, the PEPF has been supporting initiatives and projects, which contribute to making sustainable development a daily reality for local communities across Poland. PEPF programming enables citizen-led initiatives and social innovation and supports partnerships between civil society groups, businesses, local government, public sector agencies and universities in order to help accelerate Poland’s transition to more sustainable patterns of production and consumption. In this regard, a key focus is on promoting sustainable mobility through a national Greenways Programme.

The PEPF continues the work of the ‘Environmental Partnership for Central Europe’ (EPCE) - a programme of The German Marshall Fund of the US - which supported civil society development during the period 1991-1996.
The PEPF is a member of the European Cyclists Federation and the European Greenways Association (via the Central European Greenways Programme).
