interconnect existing services and integrate innovative concepts
MM helps to coordinate existing modes of transport and other transport services. This can reduce idle time (e.g. waiting for connection trains) and bridges gaps, where services or modes of transport are sub optimum (e.g. home delivery service for heavy goods, that cannot be carried in a bus).

When new forms of sustainable transport have been developed, they have to be organised and must be coordinated among existing services, before they are put into practice. In that way, an integrated use of transport modes becomes possible, sustainable mobility behaviour becomes easier and more comfortable for the individual.

MM can take over the part to organise the collaboration between relevant groups. First, MM offers support for the approach of the clients to their target groups (e.g. how can a school best address its pupils). Second, there are different partners on the side of the clients, that have to work together, e.g. different departments or persons in different hierarchical levels). Third, on a broader level, MM also mediates and coordinates between the involved companies, responsible local authorities and / or transport providers. This is important for the efficiency of MM and of the offered mobility services.

Examples:
  • a car pool matching service
  • organisation of car sharing
  • coordination of a dedicated system for transport of disabled persons
