Karlstad is situated on the northern shore of Lake Vänern. To the south you´ll find the Väner archipelago with over 1000 islands. To the north the big forests and many lakes of Värmland.
Värmland is one of Sweden´s 21 Countys. Almost 300.000 people live here, many in their own home, in a small city or in the countryside.
Pulp and paper has always been an importent part of our industry. The steel mill in Hagfors, the many consultant companies and the many tourists visiting in the summer is also part of our economy.
